Bandmakers Newsletter – June 2, 2016

No Comments News

Greetings fans, and a special welcome to all of our new subscribers!  Summer is coming up and there’s a lot of music to be heard.

Spring Term Concerts

The WestSiders are on tour!  Join them as they celebrate all of their hard work at two great shows on June 4th in Forest Grove and June 13th in Beaverfon.  Visit the events calendar for all the details.

Warming Up For Summer

Bandmakers for Summer 2016 is already doing well.  As of today we have 6 folks signed up and there are still 3 weeks left, so we’re hopeful that we can get at least one more band together.  Please help by spreading the word about our programs far and wide.

Summer concert dates are projected to be August 22nd and 27th.  Watch for confirmation of these dates, coming soon.

Intro to Ensembles for summer will be on June 11th.  Even if you can’t make it for Bandmakers this term, the ensembles workshop contains a ton of useful information that’s great to have anytime.  Click here for more info and to sign up.

Looking For A Logo

The search is on for a logo for the Bandmakers program.  If you’re good (or even just okay) at graphic design and would like to help, please contact Jim to learn more about what we need.

Alumni Spotlight – Scott Goetchius

Scott has done a total of 4 sessions in the program over several years.  His last Make Music PDX appearance was in 2012 with The Imperfect Strangers, and he continued to play with that group until they disbanded in 2015.  Since then he’s been doing gigs in Canby as well as at Greater Portland Bible Church, and is currently playing and singing with the band Flip Side.  In his non-musical life, Scott is enjoying retirement and spoiling his grandchildren, as well as being involved in community service projects around the Canby area.

See you next time!
